How do I search for boats?

Use the "Find a Boat" page. Filter by type, budget, location, length, and year. Results update instantly as you adjust filters.

Where does the data come from?

BoatQuest aggregates listings from major UK and European boat listing sites — updated daily. We normalise all data into a consistent format so you can compare across sources.

How current are the listings?

Listings are refreshed daily. Each listing shows when it was first seen. Listings not seen for 14+ days are automatically removed.

What is the AI Advisor?

A conversation-based tool that learns what you're looking for — budget, size, use, experience — and helps you narrow down to the right type of boat. Available on Explorer plan and above.

Does it remember my preferences?

Yes. The AI Advisor builds a profile across sessions so it can personalise future conversations and search results to your needs.

Is it a real person?

No — it's powered by Claude AI (Anthropic). It's very knowledgeable about boats but not a substitute for a qualified marine surveyor or broker.

What is a Quick Pre-Viewing Intel report?

A fast AI scan of the listing: price position vs the market, red flags, SWOT summary, and the key questions to ask before you visit. Generates in ~15 seconds. Available on Explorer plan (5/month).

What is a Full Pre-Purchase Report?

A deeper AI analysis covering hull, rig, engine, electrics, safety, known make/model issues, and a full inspection checklist. Takes 30–60 seconds. Available on Pro plan (unlimited).

Can I retrieve a report I generated before?

Yes — reports are saved to your account. Log in and revisit the same boat listing page to see your previous report. Reports are cached for 7 days.

Do reports replace a physical survey?

No. AI reports are for guidance only. Always commission a qualified marine surveyor (YDSA or BMCA accredited) before purchasing any boat.

Is BoatQuest free?

Yes — the Free plan gives you full search, listing views, and price data. Upgrading to Explorer (£9/mo) or Pro (£29/mo) unlocks AI reports, the AI Advisor, and more.

What's included in each plan?

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — cancel from your Billing page at any time. You keep access until the end of your billing period.

How do I sign in?

We use magic links — enter your email, we send you a one-click sign-in link. No password needed.

How do I save boats?

Click "Save to My Boats" on any listing. View your saved boats in My Saved Boats from your account menu.

How do I change my plan?

Go to Billing in your account menu. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from there.

What data do you store about me?

Your email, plan status, saved boats, and AI conversation preferences. We never sell your data. Full details in our Privacy Policy.

Can I delete my account?

Yes — contact us at hello@boatquest.co.uk and we'll delete your account and all associated data within 7 days.
